Moving to the

Philadelphia Catholic League

For years, the administration refused to consider the opinions of the parents, friends and alumni of the school.  But in the past year or so, there seemed to be a "warming" on the part of the current administration.  This was evident with the establishment of an Advisory Board, the creation of a Hall of Fame, access to St. Mary Manor fields for lacrosse, and plans to make improvements to the football field.

However, without thought or consideration of the Lansdale Catholic community, the 'powers that be' decided what is best for LC, and that is to become a part of the Philadelphia Catholic League.  Wow!  After the school being in existence for 58 years they now make this decision?  And why LC?  If the Archdiocese wants the schools in the Philadelphia Catholic League to join the PIAA that's fine, but why change something that has been successful for so many years and draw LC into it?  It's amazing that they single out LC and ignore St. Pius X in Pottstown and Bishop Shanahan in Downingtown.

And, really, why is there a Catholic League?  Is it that the Archdiocese just wants to limit competition to Catholic schools.  Is it afraid that the schools won't do well against the Public Schools?  What better way to spread the Catholic identity than to play public schools!  And why is it called the "Philadelphia" Catholic League?  If they are going to force the suburban high schools into playing each other, why doesn't the Archdiocese create a Suburban Catholic League?
